A new congressional bill—nicknamed the "Big Beautiful Bill"—will end federal EV tax credits up to $7,500 for new and $4,000 for used vehicles by September 30, 2025, accelerating the original 2032 expiration.
GM secured the #2 position in electric vehicle sales last year and continued to outpace industry growth with EV sales increasing over 100% in Q2, while Chevrolet emerged as the best-selling EV brand during the quarter. Cadillac achieved leadership in the luxury EV market share in Q2 and recorded its strongest retail market share performance since 2014.
Tesla produced 410,244 vehicles in Q2 2025,, delivered 384,122, and deployed 9.6 GWh of energy storage, with full financial results and a live webcast scheduled for July 23 at 4:30 p.m. CT.
In Q2 2025, Rivian produced 5,979 vehicles and delivered 10,661 units while securing a $1 billion investment from Volkswagen Group, reaffirming its 2025 delivery target of 40,000 to 46,000 vehicles and setting its financial results webcast for August 5 at 5:00 p.m. ET.
U.S. Ford sales rose 14.2% year-over-year to 612,095 units in Q2 2025, including 82,886 electrified vehicles and a record 156,509 electrified units in the first half—surpassing the combined totals of GM and Stellantis—fueled by strong demand for hybrids and EVs like the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit.
In the second quarter, Lucid reports that 3,863 vehicles were produced and 3,309 delivered, bringing first-half totals to 6,075 produced and 6,418 delivered, with full financial results to be shared during a shareholder webcast on August 5, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. ET.
As part of its ABB partnership and goal of net-zero emissions by 2035, the first EV prototypes—three high-horsepower, near-silent electric stock-car racers—ran demonstration laps on the Chicago street course during NASCAR's exhibition testing on Sunday, July 6.
EV sales surged for Kia in the first half of 2025, with the EV9 and EV6 deliveries totaling 4,938 and 5,875 units respectively, supported by continued EV marketing efforts including participation in Electrify Expo events nationwide.
