Happy Tuesday and Happy Valentine’s Day (if you celebrate). The Super Bowl seemed lacking in EV commercials this year compared to last. I only counted 3 EV commercials and then an Elon spotting. Oh well, who watches the Super Bowl for commercials…

Let’s get to it. The EV news.

Hyundai Subscription

Interested in EVs, but not completely sold on them? Hyundai has a solution. Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Capital America have jointly introduced their new Evolve+ EV subscription service at the 2023 Chicago Auto Show. Aiming to provide a flexible and affordable solution to those who want to experience driving Hyundai's EVs without committing to a purchase or long-term lease, Evolve+ offers a month-to-month subscription model. The fully digital experience can be managed via the Evolve+ app, which includes access to select dealerships in six states and offers the popular IONIQ 5 for $899/month and an electric Kona for $699/month.

The subscription covers 1,000 miles, insurance, maintenance, registration, and roadside assistance, and the subscriber can cancel at any time without a long-term commitment. The service has been built in partnership with Hyundai dealers and is intended to attract the "EV-curious" audience, with plans to expand to more locations by the end of the year. There you go. Now go get an EV and you’ll be hooked.
