General Motors increased retail sales by 3% year-over-year in the U.S. during Q3 2024, delivering 659,601 vehicles in total, while achieving a record quarter for EV sales with 32,195 deliveries, up 60% from the previous year.
In Q3 2024, Tesla produced around 470,000 vehicles, delivered approximately 463,000, deployed 6.9 GWh of energy storage products, and will release its financial results on October 23, 2024, followed by a live Q&A webcast.
Ford's U.S. retail sales rose 4% in Q3, driven by strong demand for hybrid and EVs, with Ford remaining the top seller in several segments, including trucks, hybrid trucks, and vans, while its EV sales grew 12%, making it the second-largest EV brand in the U.S.
In September 2024, Kia America achieved record sales for its all-electric and plug-in hybrid models, with EV sales up 43% and PHEV sales up 11% year-over-year, as electrified models made up 17% of the company's total monthly volume.
In Q3 2024, Hyundai set a new retail sales record, driven by strong demand for the IONIQ 5, which saw a 30% increase in sales, and a 36% rise in hybrid sales.
Stellantis saw strong EV sales in Q3, with the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe remaining the top-selling plug-in hybrids in the U.S., and the all-electric Fiat 500e achieving a 118% sales increase year-over-year.
EVs accounted for 48.4% of Toyota's total sales, with over 710,000 electrified units sold through the third quarter, representing 41.1% of year-to-date sales across 30 Toyota and Lexus electrified models.
Caterham has partnered with Yamaha Motor to supply a cutting-edge e-axle and expertise in vehicle motion control for its upcoming electric sports coupé, Project V, with the prototype set for completion by mid-2025.
Kwik Trip is expanding its EV charging network across the Midwest with fast-charging stations, supported by $23.2 million in federal funds, and launching a mobile app for users to access charging availability, pricing, and locations, with plans to have stations in Ashland and West Salem, Wisconsin, by the end of October.
Wayne County Community College District is expanding its workforce development programs with new courses and stackable certificates in EV technologies, designed to prepare a skilled workforce for roles like EV and Battery Charger Technicians.
First Student has introduced First Charge, an innovative, above-ground, trenchless EV charging infrastructure solution designed to simplify and reduce costs for school districts electrifying their bus fleets, while also supporting medium and heavy-duty EVs with a modular, scalable, and flexible design.
