Planning to triple electric vehicle production in 2025 from its 2024 target, Toyota aims to produce around 600,000 electric vehicles in 2025 as part of a broader strategy to include various power sources, including gasoline and hybrid vehicles.
All new models launched in Europe by the Japanese carmaker Nissan will be fully electric, as the company reaffirms its commitment to achieving exclusively electric vehicle sales on the continent by 2030.
Joby Aircraft has delivered its first electric air taxi to Edwards Air Force Base in advance of its expected 2024 delivery date, marking the first electric air taxi stationed on a U.S. military base and part of a $131 million contract with the U.S. Air Force.

Pricing unveiled! The 2024 KIA Niro EV is a capable crossover with three powertrains, 253 miles of range, and a best-in-class cargo room. It comes in two trim levels: Wind and Wave, with prices starting from $39,600 and $44,600 respectively.
The BYD Dolphin, an affordable all-electric vehicle, has made its debut in Mexico, marking its entry into North America and inching closer to the United States; however, its price in Mexico is nearly double that in China, where it originates.
Rivian leasing coming soon?
California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would have mandated a human safety operator for self-driving trucks on public roads, asserting that existing laws provide adequate regulatory oversight for heavy-duty autonomous vehicle technology in the state.
A patent-pending brake light detection system has been developed by Ford to improve safety in autonomous and driver-assistance-equipped vehicles, giving priority to detecting brake lights over traffic signals, preventing premature vehicle movement at green lights, and assisting in cases of malfunctioning traffic lights.
Plans for dedicated lanes exclusively for autonomous vehicles are in development in Japan to improve transportation speed, reduce traffic congestion, enhance safety, and utilize advanced traffic control systems and in-vehicle technology to monitor vehicle movements and protect vulnerable road users.
