Tesla Semi, Rivian, Baidu, Germany, and More

Happy Thursday! I got to ride an e-bike around Salida, CO last week and it was a great way to cruise the city. If you haven’t had the opportunity to ride one, definitely do. You’ll be impressed. Shout out to Brett at Inspired Electric Motorsports for letting me ride on his personal bike. We also got to check out where the new Rivian EV chargers are being installed in Salida. The mayor of Salida negotiated to have universal chargers installed alongside the Rivian Chargers. Only two more weeks to refer a friend and be entered to win an electric drill. Click the link below. If you are having trouble with the link, please email us at [email protected]Thank you for your support and have an awesome day.

EV Headlines
Rivian
The Pandemic has caused additional delays for the production of Rivian’s R1T and R1S. Due to delays in facility construction, equipment installation, and in vehicle component supplies, deliveries have been pushed to September. This will not affect delivery vans for Amazon. If you watched the Blue Origin launch earlier this week, you did get to see the R1S driving the crew to the launch pad. Volkswagen Group delivers 170,939 BEVs in the first 6 months of 2021. This is more than double the amount of vehicles delivered in the previous period. Most of these sales took place in Europe, but Volkswagen has planned production for the ID.4 in the U.S. later this year.
In other production news, Tesla Semi is about to kick off production at the Nevada based Gigafactory. Tesla previously revealed the truck back in 2017 and was supposed to go into production in 2019. Delays have pushed the production date back, but it looks like Tesla is close.
Lastly, Suzuki is planning on entering the EV market by 2025.
