Want a vintage Ford truck, but electric? Well, your dreams may come true. This week, Ford introduced the ability to buy its Eluminator motor to replace the old combustion engines in some of their vintage vehicles. The kit is from the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance and puts out 480 hp and 634lb/ft of torque. Right now, you can get the motor for $3,900, and eventually Ford hopes to sell everything to retrofit your classics.

It's About to be Public

Rivian

Rivian is going public and it may be as early as next week. Rivian Automotive is targeting a market valuation of as much as $54.6 billion in its upcoming IPO. If you pre-ordered a Rivian, you may have the ability to purchase pre-ipo stock. A close source of ours confirmed this and said he was limited to 175 shares. This is not financial advice, but I do have a link to Rivian driving across America.

No Human Pilot?

Autonomous technology in planes has been around since the early 1910s with the introduction of an autopilot system. In 2020, Airbus announced that it successfully designed and tested a completely autonomous takeoff system. ANSYS conducted a poll in 2019 which gathered that 70% of consumers were comfortable with flying in an autonomous plane in their lifetime, but the majority of which weren’t aware of the level of autonomous already involved in commercial flight. Commercial flights will get more and more autonomous features as tech evolves, but it’s unlikely that we’ll see a commercial flight without a human pilot. That doesn't mean we won’t have fully autonomous drones and military aircraft though...In other AV News
